"Meethoileima" (par excellent queen) at a function in Imphal.
• On the occasion, State Chief Minister N. Biren Singh handed over a
cheque of ten lakh rupees to her. The
Chief Minister also declared that the Imphal West DC Road towards Game Village
will be named as MC Mary Kom Road.

Isro set to launch
GSAT-7A
• The Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) is planning to launch a dedicated
communication satellite for defence purposes next week.
• GSAT-7A is a communications satellite which can be used by the Indian Air Force and the Indian Army.
• Isro is all set to launch the communication satellite GSAT-7A on
board the GSLV-F11from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota on December
19, 2018.
• GSAT-7A is the 35th Indian Communication satellite built by Isro.
• Total cost of the GSAT-7A is estimated to be in the region of Rs
6-8 billion and its life is estimated to be around nine years, according to
Isro sources.

• India’s first Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence established by the EuropeanUnionwas
inaugurated at the Department of
European Studies (DES) at Manipal Academy of Higher Education in New Delhi by Ambassador of the European Union (EU) to
India and Bhutan, Tomasz Kozlowski.
• The award comes with a grant of €1,00,000 to pursue India-EU
interdisciplinary studies in
culture, literature, education and society.
• This is the fifth time that MAHE has been awarded grants under the
Erasmus+ Jean Monnet initiative.

• Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Radha Mohan Singh
launched a
portal ENSURE- National Livestock Mission-
EDEG developed by NABARD and operated
under the Department of Animal Husbandry,
Dairying and Fisheries.
• On this occasion, he informed that the National Livestock Mission
has been conceived by Modi government for the sustainable development of the
livestock sector.
• Under the Mission’s component called Entrepreneurship Development
and Employment Generation (EDEG), subsidy payment for activities related to
poultry, small ruminants, pigs etc through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) goes
directly to the beneficiary’s account.

Home Ministry launches
Twitter account to spread awareness about cybercrimes
• Home Ministry has launched a Twitter account to spread awareness
about cybercrimes and normal precautions to be taken.
• The Twitter handles - @CyberDost - is aimed at enhancing people's
basic knowledge about cybercrimes and
precautions to be taken for prevention.
• Home Ministry said in the release that government is committed to
creating an ecosystem to prevent and control cyber crimes to mitigate the
possibility of disruption in normal business activities or losses due to
cybercrimes.
• It said capacity building and public awareness are critical
components for obviating impact of cybercrimes and creating a suitable climate
for trust-based transactions.
Delhi Police trains 2
lakh women, enters Limca Book of Records
• Delhi Police has entered the Limca Book of Records by training
over two lakh women and girls under their self-defence programme in 2017.
• Deputy Commissioner of Police Geeta Rani Verma said, the Delhi
Police will receive the award in February next year.
• Started in 2002, the Delhi Police's self- defence programme is
carried out by the Special Police Unit For Women and Children and over nine
lakh 80 thousand women have been trained till November this year.
