1. Comptroller and Auditor General Rajiv
Mehrishi has become the Vice-Chair of the UN Panel of Auditors. The United
Nations Panel of Auditors consists of External Auditors of the United Nations
and its agencies.
2. Shaktikanta Das, a former 1980 batch IAS
officer who spearheaded the post-demonetisation normalisation of the economy,
has been named the new governor of the Reserve Bank of India.
3. Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who

4. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will
provide USD 31 million loan to develop tourism and boost jobs in Tamil

second and third positions.
6. Israel became a full member of the
Financial Action Task Force (FATF), an international body set up to combat
money laundering, terrorist financing and other threats to the international
financial system.
7. Senior Congress leader and former Kerala
minister CN Balakrishnan passed away. He was 87.
8. Hinduja Group flagship firm Ashok
Leyland has inked a pact with Israel's Elbit Systems. As part of this
agreement, Ashok Leyland will provide high mobility vehicles (HMV) for mounting
Elbit Systems' artillery guns and systems.
